I LOVE YouTube. I really do. It’s amazing. But I’m so tired of sifting through the rubble of creators who make tutorials telling you they HAVE THE SECRET and it’s just something they read in an Andrew Loomis book, or contradictory advice to the norm with no practical application to get you baited and confused. If anyone knows of any solid creators who make brilliant tutorials - let me know!

One of those evenings where I have no energy or desire to draw and sit here thinking about burning all my sketchbooks. INSTEAD I revisited a sketch on a concept for a series of childhood nightmares. I remember all of my bad dreams as a kid - this one happened from about the ages of 3-7. Grim! What bad dreams do you remember as a kid?

A little hark back to this beauty - one of my favourite pieces ever. I got the watercolour just right to capture the glow of the fire on the young witches face, not to mention her expression upon seeing her first love. We all remember that feeling…. I still don’t know if I have a style but I’ve been told I do. It’s difficult to see it yourself. Maybe one day I will. It’s like a magic eye - I need to draw back and observe without thinking too much. I don’t know why we artists get so obsessed with style, but we do. After spending this week learning about the great art forgers of our time, I actually realised just being talented at producing many different kinds of art is impressive enough. But the secret ingredient there is crime 😂💀

I love my gallery wall - something I always wanted but never produced enough art to warrant. Anyone else love hanging their work up, or do you find it cringe?

Anyone else experience phantasmagoria? I can actually think up imagery so vividly, that when I close my eyes, it appears in full 3D - often in sparkly starry form. I could almost reach out and touch them. I believe I have synesthesia as I experience music in colours and shapes, feel personalities to numbers and letters etc. It’s exciting but can be overwhelming as the inside of my mind can be way more interesting than the outside - daydreaming is a big problem for me at times, but I love it 🩷

I have always been a Bowie fan but not a mega one. Now, I appreciate him on a level I never did before. This experience is so inspirational, so moving and such a love letter to a life of authenticity and art. I want to return again and again before it ends.

Bank holiday with a virus buffet. My favourite time of year to get sick. Everyone else is drinking beer in their garden whilst I’m drinking lemsip in bed. Perhaps I can get my friends to come over dressed as wasps and annoy me to make it feel like summer.

What do you think to my stippling work? It took ten hours to do this page. TEN HOURS. Maybe I’m slow. Or it’s really good. I don’t know anymore. Enjoy my friends and artists! 😘😘😘😘😘

The result of my creation for MCM Comic Con 2026 in London. What a process. I took a green velvet corset, stuck 100s of tiny ivy leaves all over, ensuring the direction of each leaf would be flattering and make sense to the fit. I also added ivy to the sheer green gloves. Then I slathered on gold glitter glue by hand - getting in touch with my preschool self again. The eyebrows were latex, bought on Etsy. I gave them some pizazz with green glitter eyeliner. The scarf was last minute as I attempted to dye my own hooded cloak and cocked it right up. I wore a wig despite being a redhead to achieve that exact Uma look.

Getting it on was a nightmare, getting it off for the loo was even worse - but thankfully I had my wonderful friend on hand to lace me back up each time. I felt beautiful in it, after the initial nerves of “oh this is quite obscene for 10am in the middle of London” 😅

I now want to dye my hair this colour (again) after years of being copper. What do you reckon?

Now off to grind out some stippling on my graphic novel 🤣

I can’t be without jelly beans. They’re my absolute favourite sweet. But they have to be traditional - none of this piss flavoured bogie beans or whatever the kids like eating. I keep this jar on hand for when my hand is flagging - perks it right up! What is your go to snack for creative seshing?
